The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the results of the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) for the December 2025 session. The examination was conducted on January 17, 2026.
Education counsellor Vikas Chhajed informed that a total of 43,933 candidates appeared for the examination, out of which 10,264 candidates have qualified, while 32,604 candidates were declared unsuccessful. The results of four candidates have been withheld due to pending document verification. Additionally, 1,061 candidates remained absent from the examination. The scorecards will be available on the official website from February 6.
The overall pass percentage for this session stood at 23.37 per cent, showing a notable improvement compared to the June 2025 session, which recorded a pass percentage of 18.61.
The FMGE is conducted for a total of 300 marks, and candidates are required to secure a minimum of 150 marks to qualify. The examination enables Indian students who have completed their medical education abroad to become eligible to practice as doctors in India. After qualifying the FMGE, candidates are also required to complete a compulsory internship in India.
Mr. Chhajed further stated that several students from Udaipur have successfully cleared the examination. Prominent among them are Shubham Patidar, Hiranshi Shah, Yashvardhan Gaur, Rishi Baheti, Golden Singh Panwar, Sejal Badiwal, Vivek Prajapat and Rudraksh Acharya, along with several others who passed with good scores. The successful candidates attributed their achievement to the support of their families and the guidance of their mentor, Dr. Priyansh Jain.
