LOCATION & WEATHER
The weather is like a subtropical marine climate. The temperature in the whole year is around 22 degrees Celsius. The hottest month of the year is August and the temperature this month is around 28 degrees Celsius. The average temperature is 13 degrees Celsius in the month of January. The yearly rainfall in the rainy season of April and August is 1,720 mm.
HOW TO REACH SOUTHWEST MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Taxi is available for international student and it is 50 minutes away from the airport. 100-120 CNY will be the fare for taxi and in other cases buses are also available that drop at a proper location to the university and these buses commute after every 30 minutes. To the downtown, the total time is 40 minutes and the cost is the same 12CNY. Taxi can be booked after arriving downtown.
FOOD
On the campus of the University, there are canteens and for different students, there are different food materials and facilities in the university. The Indian food facility is available in China. Hostel facilities are managed by the university very well and accommodation is provided to students with proper care. Those who want to eat Indian food can easily cook and Indian food is provided also.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION IN SOUTHWEST MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
English is a major medium of instruction and is used in office work as well. The students are made to learn the native language as well.
ELIGIBILITY
- Students must have more than 60% marks in 12th standard.
- The student must have NEET qualification with above 55% in PCB in 10+2, otherwise, he\she won’t be eligible to apply for it.
- In the case of Humanities and other subjects like Law, Engineering, etc, there are various entrance tests conducted online, and qualifying them is the only way to help get enrolled.
- The age of a student or applicant must be more than 17 years and less than 25 years.
- A student must have chemistry, physics, and Biology as the main subject in 12th standard.
DEGREE
For pursuing a Master’s degree there are seven first-class disciplines, 42 secondary disciplines and for doing a professional degree 7 professional units are there.
For undergraduates, there are 26 undergraduates’ courses available and there are seven disciplines:
