Degree Conferred as: MD (Physician)

Duration: 6 years studies including 1 year Internship. After the 6 years course, 1 year internship may be done in the home country (India) or as per the home country government rules and regulations.

Spacious and comfortable dormitories provided on a Twin/Three/Four Sharing or single dorm room, A/C, Internet & Attached Bath etc. Separate rooms/dormitory for boys and girls. Shops are located inside and outside the campus making it very convenient for students.

History 

Kharkiv National Medical University Ukraine is one of the oldest government universities in Ukraine. The University was founded in 1805 as the Medical Faculty of the Kharkiv University. It was later renamed as Kharkiv Medical Institute and then as Kharkiv State Medical University and presently it is known as Kharkiv National Medical University.

Kharkiv National Medical University is amongst the best medical universities for MBBS in Ukraine for Indian students who wish to study medicine in Europe. Historically, the University has been a top medical educational institution in Ukraine. The Degree of MBBS (MD – General Medicine) of Kharkiv National Medical University is prestigious and it is recognized worldwide.

Indian students are taught in English medium at the university. Practical training of the students starts from the 4th year and is arranged in the municipal hospitals and clinics of Kharkiv city.

Since 1951, Kharkiv National Medical University has been training doctors from different countries of Europe, Asia and Africa.   • Academic facility and scientific research

About 40 researches in priority directions are conducted at the University. These are working out of methods for prevention, diagnosing and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular, reproductive and musculoskeletal systems, as well as implementation of low-invasive interventions in cases of acute and chronic pathology. Researches are conducted in the Central Research Laboratory, 5 problem laboratories and departments, as well as on the basis of 2 scientific institutes and 6 education-research-production units (“Therapy” – Department of internal Medicine No.1 and Clinical Pharmacology and the Institute of Therapy of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine; “Surgery”– Department of Surgery No.1 and the Institute of General and Urgent Surgery of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine; “Obstetrics and Gynaecology” – Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology No. 1 and the Institute of Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine; “Medical Radiology” – the Department of Radiation Diagnosis and Radiation Therapy and the Institute of Medical Radiology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine; “Nephrology and Urology” – the Department of Urology, Nephrology and Andrology and Shapoval Regional Clinical Centre for Urology and Nephrology; “Medical Genetics” – the Department of Medical Genetics and the Ukrainian Institute of Medical Genetics).

  • Great achievement

Kharkiv National Medical University ranks 10021 out of 11,000 universities in the world. In Ukraine KNMU takes 5th place among medical higher educational establishments and the 26thgeneral place in SCPOUS (the scientometrical database). University possesses 47th place among higher educational establishments of Ukraine according to UNESCO “TOP 200”.

Kharkiv National Medical University has a big complex of buildings for the teaching process, and 7 hostels for all graduate and even post-graduate students.

The theoretical classes are held in six buildings of University. Practical studying is taking place in the wide net of clinical bases of Kharkiv’s medical institutions.

The modern buildings of KNAU are designed to give all facilities for any studying activities. The total area of University’s property is about 114.5 thousand square meters. So, each student has near 15 square meters at his disposal for living and studying.
